Chapter 2: CATS!!

Sure enough, Usagi was at the arcade in the late morning playing the Sailor V
game when Rei, followed by Ami, Makoto, Minako, Artemis and Luna strode in angrily.
“USAGI!?” Rei yelled furiously, attracting the attention of the other people in the
arcade.
“Rei?” Usagi turned from her game (Rei scared her, so she lost the game by
walking right into a bad-guy), “You’re all here? Don’t tell me I missed another meeting!”
The gamers had now returned to their awaiting games and the mob approached
Usagi.
“As a matter of fact-” Makoto was cut off.
“You did miss it!” Minako said firmly.
“The important one that you were supposed to be at an hour ago!” Rei quickly
finished.
“Luna!? You didn’t remind me! It’s Luna’s fault!!” Usagi whined hoarsely, but
keeping it down to some extent as to not attract the attention of the arcade customers
again.
“Usagi-chan,” Luna said quietly, dignified, sitting atop the Sailor V control panel,
“It was you’re responsibility to remember!”
     “Luna!” Usagi whined s’more.
“Come on, Usagi-chan,” Artemis leapt onto the Sailor V game beside Luna,” Let’s
just get to the temple and have the meeting before it gets even later!”
“Yes,” Luna agreed, nodding her head.
“Come on,” Rei growled, hauling Usagi to her feet and escorting her to the door,
“let’s go.”
Everyone, now in mutual agreement proceeded out the door and toward the
Hikawa Shrine with formidable speed. Artemis was non-too gracefully hung over
Minako’s shoulder, displaying a motion-sickness expression. Luna was being carried in
Ami’s arms, enjoying a more pleasant ride.
Once finally on temple grounds, everyone planted themselves in their usual spots
on the stairs, anticipating the news that Luna and Artemis claimed to have.
“Well,” Luna began, “Now that we’re all here, I’ll begin.”
Luna sat pertly infront of the awaiting audience, eyeing them suspiciously.
“What is it, Luna?” Ami asked politely.
“Well, it’s like this: New students, powerful vibrations and now that the Dark
Moon family has been taken care of, we suspect a new Dark Kingdom plot,” Luna paced
infront of the girls, watching them, pausing for a moment at Usagi, then continued her
march, “There’s definitely a new and powerful source of magic, and the new people in
town are none other than those three new students at Usagi’s school.”
“Don’t be silly,” Usagi laughed innocently, “they’re nice!”
“Hmph,” Rei grumbled, “You said the same thing about Earl and Ann.”
“That was different!” Usagi stood up over Rei, “They were creepy from the start!
Now Avery, Ayla and Ben have made so many friends here!”
“That’s true,” Ami sided with Usagi, “They aren’t as secretive the way Ail and
Ann were... I don’t think it’s them.”
“Hmm,” mumbled Makoto, “Yeah, they don’t seem at all like the Dark Kingdom
type.”
“Hey!” came a whiney voice from the street, “You started without me!”
Everyone turned to look as Chibi-usa came running at them.
“Chibi-usa! There you are!” Usagi said in a concerned voice.
“You can’t start meetings without me!”  Chibi-usa roared.
“Sorry about that, but we seriously thought you’d be with Usagi,” Luna moved
before she got stepped on.
“Well excuse me,” Chibi-usa sat down with the others, “Now you can continue.”
“As I was saying,” Luna resumed her pacing, “A new and powerful force has
appeared. We must find out exactly what we’re dealing with and do something about it!”
    A long silence followed.
“So...does anyone feel like tea?” Rei offered.
     “Yeah,” Usagi muttered.
     “Sure,” Makoto sighed.
“That would be nice,” Ami agreed.
     “Yes, please,” Minako followed.
They all got up and followed Rei inside.
“Are you coming, Chibi-usa?” Minako paused to wait for her.
“Mmmm, no thank you. I’d rather just sit outside for a while if you don’t mind,”
She answered without turning to look at Minako.
“Suit yourself. Feel free to join us later...” Minako quickly caught up with the
others, scattering fallen pink and white blossom petals that danced on the springtime
breeze.
Both Luna and Artemis had accompanied the girls to tea, but Artemis soon
returned mumbling something about gossip.
“Chibi-usa-chan?” He said, noticing the silent Chibi-usa clutching Luna P in her
arms, sitting on the temple steps.
Chibi-usa paused, looked down at the ground blanketed in petals, then looked at
Artemis, “I’m okay...” She muttered slowly, “Don’t like to be surrounded by so many
girls?”
Artemis blushed, “Eh...no! It’s not that! I just didn’t feel like being smushed by
Usagi when she broke out laughing.”
“Oh...is that all,” Chibi-usa sighed and looked at the ground again..
“Hey!” Artemis suddenly yelped, “Who’s that?”
Chibi-usa looked up and saw a girl slowly ascending the stairs, heading towards
the shrine, “I don’t know...”
“Excuse me,” the girl said to Chibi-usa, “but is this the Hikawa Shrine?”
Chibi-usa nodded slowly, “Yes, it is. Can I help you?”
“Uh...no, I think I can find my way around. I’m just doing a little sightseeing
today,” the girl was soon standing infront of Chibi-usa, “I heard this temple was beautiful
at this time of year...”
“Yeah,” Chibi-usa agreed, taking a slow glance at her surroundings, “My name is
Chibi-usa. Don’t you go to Juban High school?”
“Actually, I do... do you know someone who goes there?” the girl asked.
“Uh-huh. Do you know Usagi Tsukino?” Chibi-usa stood up, letting go of Luna P,
which now floated above her head.
“Yeah! Usagi! She’s the one that looks like Sailor Moon!”
Chibi-usa began to laugh histarically while Artemis silently watched.
“Say...” the girl said while catching sight of Artemis, “This cat looks like Usagi’s,
only white...what was her name? Uh...”
    “Luna?” Chibi usa said.
“That was it! What’s this little kitty’s name?” the girl asked.
“His name is Artemis. He belongs to my friend, Minako,” Chibi-usa replied,
    “What’s your name?”
“Oh! Sorry, I’m Avery,” she said.
“I think Usagi said something about you yesterday...you live a block away from
her?”
Avery nodded, “Do you know where Usagi is today?”
     “Actuall-”
     Artemis cut her off, “Mrreow?!”
“Actually, no,” Chibi-usa corrected herself quickly before she announced that
Usagi was in a Senshi meeting at the shrine.
“Um, excuse me,” came a feminine voice from behind Avery.
Both Avery and Chibi-usa turned to see the stranger, as Artemis peeked out from
behind Chibi-usa. Chibi-usa came out from behind Avery and spoke to the stranger, “Can I
help you, Miss?”
The robed figure laughed lightly, “Actually, I believe you have a Heart Crystal that
my master can use...”
“Wha..?” Chibi-usa’s mouth opened wide in shock, “Are you talking to me? Who
are you anyway?”
“So many questions, so little time,” the woman shook her head and slowly
revealed a furry, clawed hand from beneath her concealing robe toward Chibi-usa.
    She screamed.
“Felline!” Avery screeched, snatching Chibi-usa and pushing to the side, “You
can’t take her Heart Crystal!”
Chibi-usa fell to the ground from the force of Avery’s rescue, “Heart Crystal?” she
questioned as Artemis rushed to the little princess’ side.
Chibi-usa, you must transform into Sailor Chibi-Moon!” Artemis commanded.
“What about Avery? She’ll see me!” Chibi-usa whined.
“You don’t have a choice! Transform NOW and hold that creature off! I’m going
to get the other Senshi! Hurry!” Artemis said frantically and dashed into the shrine.
“Artemis talks?!” Avery turned to look and was surprised by a punch in the gut
delivered by the cloaked figure.
“Sorry, girl, but I need those Heart Crystals,” the woman threw her cloak aside
and revealed a feline figure, but humanoid! Her fur was gray and the brown hair on her
head was done up. She wore baggy silver, iridescent pants, from which her tail pertruded,
also a tight white top with a red jewel on her chest and white gloves extending almost to
her elbows.
Chibi-usa got up from the ground and thrust her right hand into the air, “Moon
Prism Power! Make Up!” she cried.
Both Avery and the cat gasped and turned to watch Chibi-usa transform into Sailor
Chibi-Moon. Soft colors swirled around Chibi-usa’s bare body and an outfit materialized
onto her.
“Chibi-usa...” Avery whispered, “is Sailor Chibi-Moon?”
“Stop what you are doing!” Sailor Chibi-moon commanded, pointing her index
finger at the cat, “The other Sailor Senshi are coming to vanquish you! So don’t try
anything, cat-lady!”
The cat sighed listfully, “Say...you’re kinda cute in that outfit! Did you know that
your magic comes from your Heart Crystal?”
“Uh...” Chibi-usa was surprised to hear such small talk from an enemy, “no...”
“Too bad I have to take it from you, but alas, all good things must come to an
end,” the cat dramatized, “I call upon the feline prowess...” her breathing became rasp
Sailor Chibi-Moon watched in amazement as the cat’s eyes began to glow yellow,
the rest of her body following soon after. Avery backed away from the cat, gently holding
her belly area, not totally shocked at what she was witnessing.
“Cat Scan!” The feline yelled and she raised her hand to Sailor Chibi-Moon.
A beam of yellow light shot at her. Chibi-Moon instinctively leapt aside but the
beam traced her move and enveloped her body. Screaming, Sailor Chibi-Moon was slowly
lifted off the ground by the beam that was also swallowing the cat.
     “Stop...” Avery weakly whispered, “Felline...”
The cat looked at Avery, “You know my name? How can that be?”
“Mrreow-Hisss Hisss!” Luna and Artemis launched themselves at Felline. Her ray
suddenly dissipated, but Sailor Chibi-Moon still hung in the air, unmoving. The heart
shaped pendant in the center of her bow glowed a bright pink, standing out compared to
the yellow field that surrounded her.
Felline easily flung Luna and Artemis aside. Luna landing on her feet on the
ground a few feet away, and Artemis uncontrollably soared into a bush, opposite of Luna.
“Artemis!” Luna tried hard not to laugh, “Are you all right?!”
“Yeah...” Artemis limped out from the base of the bush, “I’m fine...”
“Hold it, cat!” called a voice from above.
Avery, Felline, Luna and Artemis looked up, but saw no one.
“I am Sailor Moon! You won’t get away with hurting Sailor Chibi-Moon!” The
voice said, as Sailor Moon appeared suddenly on the temple roof top.
“I am Sailor Mercury, and I help defend the innocent,” Sailor Mercury appeared
beside Sailor Moon.
“And I am Sailor Mars, and believe me, I’m not clowning around! I will vanquish
you!” Sailor Mars came forth.
“Sailor Jupiter’s the name and thunder’s my game! So don’t be smart with me!”
Sailor Jupiter landed on the roof from an unknown source.
“And I’m Sailor V! Sailor Venus, the messenger of Love! You won’t get away
with this!” Sailor Venus leapt into sight.
“Together, we are the Sailor Senshi and we will stop you!” Sailor Moon took a
pose, “And on behalf of the moon...”
“We’ll punish you!” All the Senshi said in unison, ending in another pose.
“Impressive!” Felline smirked, “It must have taken seconds to rehearse that!”
Sailor Moon’s face faltered, but she regained her awareness quickly, “What exactly
is that supposed to mean?”
“I call upon the feline prowess,” Felline began, closing her eyes and slowly
bringing up her right fist, pointing at the Senshi perched above, “Cat Revenge Strike!”
Lightning formed, enveloping her fist. It turned crimson and a wide, red spark
soared at the Senshi at lightning speed. Sailor Moon leapt forward, over the impending
danger of the fire ball.
“Sailor Moon...” Sailor Moon announced bravely, rapidly approaching Felline in
the air, she prepared to attack, “KICK!” Sailor Moon spun in mid-air, swinging her leg at
Felline.
Felline’s jaw dropped and she vanished in a flash of white.
“Huh?!” Sailor Moon gasped, glancing quickly around her expecting Felline to
reappear and attack.
Instead, Sailor Moon, forgetting she was attacking in mid-air, turned to see the
ground meet her face, “OWWWW!!” She screeched in pain.
The spark had missed Sailor Moon, but had struck Sailor Mercury and she lay
sprawled and unconscious on the ground. Sailor Mars was kneeling over her, trying to
wake her up, shaking her violently, “Sailor Mercury! You’ve got to get up!”
“Sparkling,” Sailor Jupiter leapt into action, “Wide Pressure!”
The jolt of concentrated lightning bolted at Felline who had materialized once
again, close to Sailor Chibi-Moon. Felline again reacted quickly and vanished once again.
“No!” Jupiter bellowed as her lightning struck the inanimate Sailor Chibi-Moon.
Chibi-Moon screamed and fell to the ground, her outfit singed and her body
motionless.
“No! What have I done!?” Jupiter leapt off the roof and sprinted to Chibi-Moon.
“Ha! Cat Revenge Strike!” Felline appeared over Chibi-moon and Jupiter was
down for the count.
    “NO!” Sailor Moon cried.
“You won’t..no, you CAN’T get away with what you’ve done!” Venus yelled,
tears filling her eyes, “Venus Love-Me Chain!” The heart shaped links sped at Felline,
again the moment she reappeared.
Laughing, she attacked Venus and Venus’ chain was overpowered by the force of
Felline’s magic. The spark ate Sailor Venus’ chain and it absorbed it’s power, enhancing
the spark to optimum strength. Venus opened her mouth to scream, but no sound emerged
as the crimson death pummeled into her.
“Sailor Venus!” Both Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars ran to her collapsed body, still
in tact, but unconscious.
Avery was leaning against a pillar, with an expression on her face that looked as if
she were trying to make a decision. She watched, still sore from the punch she had
received from Felline some time ago.
“Sailor Mars...what can we do!?” Sailor Moon was crying into her shoulder.
“We have to fight, Sailor Moon,” Sailor Mars was trying to calm her down as she
silently witnessed Felline slowly walking toward them.
“I thought Tuxedo Kamen would have come by now...” Moon sobbed.
“Didn’t you tell me that he was working today?” Mars gently held Sailor Moon
away from her.
Sailor Moon had a blank expression on her face.
“At least she stopped crying,” Sailor Mars thought.
“oh, yeah,” Sailor moon wondered why she hadn’t remembered that.
Felline’s soft laughter penetrated the moment and gradually grew louder as she
neared the two remaining Senshi. While Felline stalked them, Avery took the opportunity
to see if Sailor Chibi-Moon was all right, being exposed to Kat magic for such an extended period of time.
“Cat...Revenge...Strike,” Felline said especially slowly, prolonging the inevitable.
Sailor Mars pushed Sailor Moon out of the way and she ducked the familiar cat
attack.
“Burning Mandala!” mars whispered and sent the razors at Felline.
The rings of flame struck the ground infront of Felline’s feet and forged itself into
a single entity of fire, engulfing Felline in searing heat. The flames dissipated, leaving
Felline in a surprised state.
“Not bad...for a human,” she grumbled miserably.
“Save it, kitty...” Mars rebutted, “Sailor moon! Use the Cutie Moon Rod!”
“Good idea, Mars!” and with that, she began the scepter sequence, “Moon
Princess Halation!”
The sparkling moon beam hit the stunned Felline with almost no effect. Felline
winced as the force hit her, but no damage was seen.
“Wha-!!!???” Sailor Moon shrieked, realizing her scepter had no effect on the cat.
     “Chibi-usa!” Avery said.
Sailor Chibi-Moon’s eyes opened slowly, “Avery? What’s going on?” Chibi-Moon
strained herself to sit up, “Oh no! The other Senshi...what happened!?”
“SHHH!” Avery shushed her, “Felline was too powerful and knocked out the
others.”
“That Dark Kingdom cat is going to get it!” Chibi-Moon struggled to stand.
“No, Sailor Chibi-Moon. She’s not from the Dark Kingdom...” Avery looked
down at Chibi-Moon.
    “Huh? Then where’s she from?”
“Burning Manda-” Felline tripped Sailor Moon and Grabbed Sailor Mars’ throat,
suffocating her.
Sailor Mars lost consciousness and Felline tossed her aside. Felline glared down at
Sailor Moon.
“You and your planet pals have Heart Crystals. I cannot take them because I can
only take the crystals from conscious victims!”
“Why are you telling me this?” Sailor Moon inquired while she remained on the
ground from when Felline had tripped her.
“Think about it, Sailor Moon,” Felline paused briefly, “I want you to fear me when
I take your crystal!”
Sailor Moon’s eyes widened and her mouth opened as if she were about to speak.
     “Diamond Scepter Magic!!”
A condensed mass of swirling shapes hit Felline head-on. She was forced
backward and fell onto the ground, but she stood up again, almost immediately.
“It can’t be!” Felline was mumbling.
“Pink Sugar Heart Attack!” Chibi-Moon had partially recovered and took
advantage of the situation.
Felline easily blocked the heart-shaped energy.
“Where did that power come from?” Sailor Moon was glancing from side to side,
almost completely missing the siluetted figure on the temple wall, “Who’re you!?” She
shouted at the intruder.
“My attack didn’t work!” Chibi-Moon cried, falling to her knees in tears, “Sailor
Moon...help meeee!”
Felline swooped toward Sailor Chibi-Moon and picked her up, holding
Chibi-Moon infront of her as a shield.
“Leave here, Kestrel!” Felline bellowed past Chibi-Moon’s ear, nearly deafening
her.
    “AIEEEEAAA!” Sailor Chibi-Moon screamed.
“NOOO!” Sailor Moon ran at Felline furiously.
“Cat Scratch!” Felline said casually, while extending her right arm at Sailor Moon.
An invisible force in the shape of a hand slapped Sailor Moon. She winced at the
sudden impact and soon began to feel the pain burning one side of her body. Another
assault left her in complete pain. She was soon on the ground, barely able to look once
more at her future daughter and whisper, “Chibi-usa...”
“Sailor Moon!” Chibi-Moon harshly cried out.
The siluette on the far wall silently leapt forward and landed about fifteen feet from
Felline. Garbed in black, with flowing black hair, the young woman stood. Her similar
skirt waving in a passing breeze.
“Let her go,” the girl commanded solemnly.
Felline narrowed her eyes, “I can’t.”
Chibi-usa was crying steadily now, but she caught a glimpse of the mysterious girl.
Suddenly remembering Avery, Chibi-Moon looked at where she still stood, perched
against a pillar, watching with keen interest.
    “Avery...” Chibi-Moon sobbed,” Help me...”
“I...I can’t.. not unless-” Avery was cut off as the face off came to a sudden end.
Felline vanished in a violent flash of red and left five unconscious Senshi, Avery
and the girl in black. Felline had taken Sailor Chibi-Moon with her... wherever she went.
“A moment longer and I would have had her!” Another girl suddenly came into
view, wearing much the same clothes as  the black-dressed girl, only in blue with shoulder
lengthed red hair and a blue head band.
“Damn it, Alesta! this is serious!”
Alesta snapped out of her prior mood and realized the girl in black was not
pleased, “Sorry, Kestrel...I didn’t realize-”
“She was after the poor kid’s Heart Crystal,” Kestrel finished, making it brief.
“We’ll have to report to the others...” Alesta trailed off.
“Umm...” Avery gained the strange girls’ attention, “Hi, guys...uh, do you know if
the Sailor Senshi will be okay?”
“They’ll be fine...just get them inside,” Kestrel then leapt over the wall she had
appeared from, followed by Alesta. They both left in silence.

Usagi woke up with a tingling in her body, “Wha...where am I?”
“It’s okay, Usagi. The cat’s gone now,” Avery said, while she attended to the
minor wounds that the Senshi had attained.
Usagi’s eyes snapped open and she sat up without further pain, “Huh? I changed
back to normal Usagi!”
Indeed, Sailor Moon was once again Usagi Tsukino in her Sunday clothes. Ami,
Rei, Makoto and Minako were already up and bandaged, anxiously awaiting the
awakening of their princess. The group was still at the shrine in Rei’s living room.
“Are you okay, Usagi-chan?” Makoto was asking her.
“Yes, I’m fine...but...Chibi-usa!” Usagi looked amongst her friends, “Where’s
Chibi-usa?!”
“Felline took her somewhere...” Avery picked up Luna P from the floor and held it
up.
“Avery, You’d better not blab!” Rei was threatening her with a clenched fist.
“Don’t worry! I can keep a secret!” Avery slowly backed away from Rei, “The
Diamond Riders almost got Felline and saved Chibi-usa... I should have done something,
but by then it was too late.”
“Diamond Riders?” the Senshi all asked in unison.
“Who are the Diamond Riders?” Luna looked up at Avery.
“Oh...they’re from Soria too, where I’m from. They’re part of the Empire’s
Shadow Clan.”
     “Are they evil?” Luna persisted.
“No! Absolutely not! They’re the good guys... like you. They fight more than one
evil organization though.” Avery sat on the floor in Usagi’s common position.
    “The Dark Kingdom?” Artemis appeared.
“No. Let’s see...they’ve fought the David Clan, the evil Shadow Clan, um... the
Vulture Clan, the Kevin Clan...let’s see now...  There’s so many, I can’t name them all.”
Avery pondered that.
“Is that so?” Luna was thoughtful.
Avery looked at her watch, “Geez! It’s almost six o’clock! I’ve got to get home!
I’ll see you tomorrow Usagi, Ami and Makoto! Bye Rei, Minako and Artemis, nice
meeting you all!” with that, Avery flew out the door.
Usagi sighed and lay back down...briefly, “Ahhk! It’s six o’clock!!?? Oh no! I’m
late for dinner!” Usagi shot up onto her feet and followed Avery’s trail.
“Usaaagi-chaan!” Luna was shouting after her.
“So much for peace and quiet...” Rei muttered.

The next day, Usagi was running late for school again. She passed by a line up of a
variety of students at a bus stop, “Rei?” Usagi asked herself as she caught a glimpse of a
girl with long black hair and Rei’s school uniform. She only saw the back side of her.
Usagi put on a smile and took a short detour to say hi to Rei.
“Rei-chan!” Usagi bounded towards the crowd of school students. Usagi tapped
her on the shoulder.
“Huh?” She asked, turning to see Usagi’s face smiling at her, “Who are you?”
Usagi blinked and realized that it was not Rei, “Oh! I’m sorry. I thought you were
someone else!”
“I see...by the way, has anyone ever told you that you look alot like Sailor Moon?”
The girl in Rei’s uniform asked.
The other girls at the bus stop turned to look at the blond, pig-tailed Usagi.
     “Um...sort of...” Usagi lied.
The other girls turned their gazes back to the street, watching for the bus.
“My name is Jessica...I’m new to Tokyo. Maybe if you tell me the girl’s name that
goes to T*A*, I might recognize her,” the girl that looked like Rei said smiling.
“I’m Usagi Tsukino. I go to Juban High Schoo- uh oh! Speaking of which, I”M
LATE!!!!” R-Rei Hino is my friend’s name...nice to meet you! Bye!” With that, Usagi
hastily continued her school sprint.

“Yeah, I know Usagi...you know her too?” Rei was in class a few minutes early so
she was chatting with the new girl.
“Yup. I met her this morning when I was waiting for my bus. She thought I was
you!” Jessica laughed.
“That’s great! She’s always late for school. It’s no surprise that she was sprinting
like that!” Rei smirked.
“Jess?” A red-haired girl walked into the room.
“Oh! Misty!” Jessica greeted her friend, “Rei, this is my friend Mary-Ann (Misty
for short) and Misty, meet Rei!”
“Hi,” Rei shook hands with Misty.
“Nice to meet you, Rei,” Misty smiled.
Rei somehow instantly made friends of the new students and began a detailed tour
of the T*A* Private School for Girls establishment at lunch.
“Thank you,” Jessica thanked Rei as they sat down to rest (because of all that
running around).
“Huh? Oh, it was nothing!” Rei said.
“So, Rei?” Misty inquired, “Would you know any good places to go to spend free
time?”
“Of course I do!” Rei felt energetic again, “There’s a big mall downtown, a good
comic and book store and a video arcade. I doubt you’re interested in-”
“A video arcade?! I love video games!” Jessica burst out without realizing she
interrupted Rei, “oops...sorry...”
Rei looked at her, angry at first, then she smiled, “That’s okay. My friend Usagi
who you met this morning loves to go play video games there almost every day.”
    “Cool!” Jessica grinned.
“Hey,” Rei began as she observed a pack of girls wander past their spot on the
grass, “More new students?”
“Oh! That’s Michelle and Rebecca! And they have a new friend too!” Misty
boasted.
“The one with the glasses? I’ve never seen her before...” Rei mumbled.
“No, silly! The other girl!” Misty corrected.
    “Oh.”
“Jessica! Misty!” yet another black-haired girl was racing towards them with the
others following.
“Hi, Michelle! Hi, Rebecca!” Jessica waved, “Who’s your new friend?”
“Who’s my new friend? Who’s your new friend?!” The black-haired girl was
staring directly at Rei.
“Our new friend is Rei Hino. She lives at the Shinto temple on the hill,” Misty
quickly got it over with.
“Hi,” Rei portrayed a faint smile.
The girl with middle lengthed black hair and the girl with pink hair in pig-tails held
in clasps and glasses stopped. They stepped aside to introduce another girl. She had dark
purple hair with a head band that held back her bangs.
“This is Whisp, “ the girl with glasses said.
“Hello,” the purple-haired girl smiled sweetly.
“I haven’t seen her before either,” Rei said quietly so only Jessica and Misty could
hear.
Suddenly Whisp’s face went dead serious. She muttered something in another
tongue and took two steps away from the gathering.
“What’s wrong?” Rebecca asked, while adjusting her glasses.
     “H-Heart...Heart Crystals!!” Whisp shrieked.
Rei gasped and recalled the incident at the shrine the day before, “Heart Crystals?”
Rei repeated.
“Rei...”Jessica stood up, “You’d better get out of here!”
“Who are you to tell me what to do!?” Rei was infuriated.
Rei got thinking, “I have to call the others!” She pulled out her wrist
communicator and hid behind a tree while she quickly summoned the others. After a brief
moment, she leapt from her hiding spot. Whisp was shaking visibly and she glowed slightly
yellow. Jessica, Rebecca, Michelle and Misty had their right hands in the air, but Rei acted
quickly.
“Mars Star Power! Make Up!” Rei yelled out.
Jessica and the other girls gasped.
“You’re Sailor Mars!?” Jessica watched her transform.
Whisp went bserk and feline ears grew from her head yet she retained her purple
hair. A tail emerged and her hands became clawed paws. Her eyes changed shape and she
meowed with a hiss.
“Another cat!” Jessica announced, “ Diamond Crystal Transform!”
     “Tri-Aqua Transform!”
    “Orb Earth Transform!”
     “Prism Flame Transform!”
“What!?” Rei fell back as she witnessed the four girls change.
     “Kestrel!” Jessica said, wearing black.
“You’re that girl from yesterday! Now I recognize your voice! I heard you when I
was starting to recover!” Rei pointed at the girl.
    “So glad you noticed!”
     “Alesta!” Misty landed, wearing blue.
“Tasia!” Rebecca’s glasses had disappeared and she wore red.
“Midnight!” Michelle called her name wearing green.
“Who are you!?” Sailor Mars was clearly shocked.
“We’re the Diamond Riders!” They called out in unison.
“Now that you are finished,” Whisp drew their attention, “I am Whisper and I will
take your Heart Crystals!”
“Fire Soul!” Mars shouted, clearing the Diamond Riders and skimming and
trimming Whisper’s purple hair with fire.
“That wasn’t very nice,” Whisper frowned, “I call upon the feline prowess,
Cat-Astrophy!”
The circular bright yellow ball shot at the girls. It exploded with such intensity that
all five girls were thrown off their feet and onto the ground.
     “Moon Wind!” A voice spoke.
Golden crescents flew through the air at the cat, slicing at her hair and uniform.
“You’re mean!” Whisper growled, glaring at yet another female warrior, wearing
Diamond Riders garb.
“Keiko!” All but Rei and Whisper yelled, again in unison.
Keiko ran towards Whisper with her clasped ponytail flailing behind her.
“Meow!” Whisper said as if she were whining, “Meowzma!”
Whisper lunged at Keiko, invisibly tripping her in mid-sprint, sending her head first
into the dirt.
    “Bubble Spray!”
A heavy fog floated in from an unknown source.
“We’re here, Sailor Mars!” It was Sailor Mercury and all the others.
    “Senshi!” She was happy.
“Who’re they?” Sailor Moon appeared out of the mist.
“They call themselves the Diamond Riders,” Sailor Mars slowly stood up from her
fallen position.
“This isn’t fair! Ten against one!” Whisper inched away from our heroines.
Instantaneously, Felline appeared, along with a cat no one recognized. The strange
cat had bright red hair and wore a short red skirt and a metallic-looking top. Her fur was
white.
    “Kitty Sammy!” Kestrel shouted.
“That’s better,” Whisper said, “but where’s Katsy?”
    “Katsy!?” Sailor Mars shrieked.
“I’m right here,” Sure enough, Katsy with her cat-ear shaped hair appeared,
wearing a white body suit and a black skirt that fluttered in her transportation magic.
“Katsy!” Mars called to her friend.
Katsy’s face remained firm, but Katsy didn’t know who this girl was, “Master
Locot orders us to leave this for another time,” Katsy solemnly told the other cats.
“No!” Sailor Mars threw herself at Katsy, “What are you doing!?”
“Who are you?” Katsy looked at Mars.
“It’s me, Katsy! Sailor Mars, Rei Hino! Don’t you remember me? What about
your sisters? C’mon, Katsy, remember!” Sailor Mars had tears streaming down her face.
“I don’t know you,” Katsy’s solomness collapsed and her face became confused.
She leapt into the air and vanished in a burst of blue flame.
“Don’t worry, Sailor Mars, we’ll get her back to normal, the Katsy we know,”
Sailor Moon stood beside Sailor Mars, effectively comforting her.
Kitty Sammy pinched something that looked like a button off her belt and tossed it
onto the ground.
“Pluto Black Shadow!” An anthropomorphic bird spread it’s wings and from a
sword shot a mass of black, electrical energy that pummeled into Whisper, sending her
into flight.
From the button that Kitty Sammy tossed, a bright, white, swirling portal appeared
just as Whisper was thrown in.
“C’mon!” Felline yelled to Kitty Sammy.
“Osprey!” the mist had cleared and Kestrel was talking to the crested, silver
pinioned bird.
“Kestrel! We have to go after them!” Osprey leapt forward, followed by a gray
mouse with yellow hair, carrying a huge scythe and a jaguar wearing red with brownish
hair in a half bun.
The cats sprinted toward the portal but Sailor Mars and the Diamond Riders beat
them to it.
“Damn it!” Hurry up!” The cats hissed.
     “Sailor Mars!” Sailor Moon yelled.
“We have to go after her !” Sailor Mercury began running to the light.
Everyone dashed toward it as Kitty Sammy and Felline jumped in. The portal
began to fade and all the Senshi vanished into it... in time...
