Usagi was gasping for air, running in endless
darkness, chasing a shadow. The
image vanished and Usagi stopped running. Utterly exhausted, she tried
to catch her
breath. Standing in the darkness she cried, “Chibi-usa!” in all directions.
There was no
answer. Her voice was absorbed into the darkness. Someone screamed.
“USAGI!!” Rei’s eyes snapped open. She was
sitting before a fire box in a shrine
similar to that of the Hikawa Shrine.
“It was just a vision...” Rei had broken out
in a cold sweat and she looked around
for a Kleenex or something of the sort. She was out of luck.
She sighed and wiped her face with the sleeve
of her shirt. The night had proved
uneventful and she needed to meditate and relax after what had happened
in the last few
days. She had passed by this small shrine when she first entered the
invisible castle with
Usagi, but didn’t ask about it. She thought it unusual of these people
to have a Shinto
shrine...in this strange world. But she decided to forget about it
and she mind as well take
advantage of it.
Minako and Ami were sitting in the conservatory.
Ami reading an Astronomy book
she had found in the library within the castle. Minako was staring
into space, obviously
bored.
“This book is extraordinary!” Ami didn’t mean
to say out loud.
Minako sighed.
Ami put the book on the table infront of her,
opened to an accurate map of the Tau
Ceti system, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” she answered
Ami glared at her unpleasantly.
Minako sat up, “I’m only wondering how our
home is doing...whether Luna or
Artemis have found any more Dark Kingdom activity or not...that’s all!”
Ami, apparently satisfied with that answer,
picked up the rather large book and
started reading again, “These people have mapped out every solar system
we have ever
discovered. There is also maps with unfamiliar names. These people
must be very
advanced.”
“Really,” Minako pretended to be interested,
“then where are we? Where is this
‘Soria’?”
“I can’t find that information in here...” Ami said
in a disappointed tone. She
slowly turned the book to it’s cover entitled ‘Di.17 : in Japanese’.
“That’s too bad...” Minako stood up and stretched,
“I’m going for a walk...I’ve
gotta find something to do.”
“Okay, I’ll be here if you need me,” Ami said without
looking up from the book,
which she had opened again.
With that, Minako left the conservatory and
walked into the hall. “What to do?
What to do...” She mumbled to herself. Just as she was approaching
an intersection, she
thought she saw something small and white dash by, “Artemis?!” Minako
sprinted around
the corner and tripped on something almost weightless.
“MRRREEOW!” She heard it say.
“Huh? Definitely not Artemis!” Minako said,
realizing that the pitch of the
creature’s voice was not gender specific.
“Ve-nus,” It said choppily, “Mi-na-ko!”
Minako turned and looked at it, “What are
you!?” It had very pale pink fur and it’s
ears were enormous. It had white cheeks and it’s feet had white boots.
The inside of it’s
ears were a pale blue but what attracted Minako’s attention the most
were it’s stunningly
beautiful big, blue eyes.
“Mi-yu-ki!” It bounded around Minako’s feet, “Meow!”
“Aw! You’re so cute!” Minako smiled and picked
up the small rabbit-cat creature,
cradling it in her arms.
“Mi-yu-ki!” It said again.
“Is that you’re name?”
“Meow! Meow!”
“Hey...how did you know my name?”
“Meow?” Miyuki blinked her huge eyes.
“I guess we Senshi are well known around here,
huh?” Minako started walking
back the way she had come. She decided to introduce Miyuki to Ami.
“HELP ME...!!” Osprey whined at Usagi, tugging
on her sleeve, “I’m soooooo
bored...!”
A sweat drop appeared over Usagi’s head, “How
am I supposed to help you? After
all, I’ve never been here before!”
“Gomen, Usagi-” She was cut off.
“Hey! Osprey!” called a menacing female voice.
“Meow!” came an echo.
“...Ryoko...” Osprey frowned and dropped Usagi’s
sleeve.
“Ryoko?” Usagi blinked and felt a cold breeze
sweep past her.
“Hiya, Sailor Moon...!” someone draped herself
over Usagi’s shoulders out of
nowhere, then stood where she could be identified.
“How’d you know who I am!?” Usagi pointed a finger
at the interestingly
hairstyled woman.
“I am Ryoko, former space pirate and killer,” the
spike-haired woman grinned.
“Here’s trouble...” Osprey mumbled.
“What was that?” Ryoko narrowed her eyes and
displayed a threatening fist out of
which sparks of red lightning formed.
“Nothing of your concern,” she said and turned her
head away.
Ryoko let down her fist and she expressed
a serious look, “Well, anyway, there’s a
reason I’m here today...,”
“Was there any doubt?” Osprey shook her head.
“Meow!” a small, brown, furry bunny/cat creature
wandered into the middle of the
triangle.
“What is Ryo-oh-ki?” Ryoko looked slightly annoyed.
“Meow, meow...” she looked up at Osprey, Usagi,
then Ryoko with huge,
innocent eyes.
Ryoko rolled her eyes, “Of course none of us have
any carrots!!”
“Don’t yell at the cute thing!” Usagi came
to it’s defense.
“Meeeoooow,” Ryo-oh-ki sobbed.
Osprey sighed and knelt down to pet the space
ship, “Don’t worry, Ryo-oh-ki, I’ll
get you lots of carrots later!”
“MEOW!?” she instantly switched moods and sat contentedly,
patiently waiting for
them to continue their conversation.
The blue-haired Ryoko restored her composure and
sternly looked at Osprey,
“ There have been people following me....they’ve actually attacked
me once when I went
into the city to do some essential shopping for Tenchi (on Earth).
They successfully
deflected my lesser attacks, but I didn’t want to give them full force
because they’re just a
couple of humans.”
“A couple of humans?” Osprey pondered for a moment,
“And it was so difficult
for you that you had to come all the way here to seek help from little,
old me??!” A big
smile stretched across her face, “I feel HONORED!!”
“You are the most powerful being I could think
of and since we’re
‘friends’...ah-heh...I was wondering if you could possibly...uh...lend
me a hand??” Ryoko
clasped her hands together and she put on an innocent face, similar
to that of Ryo-oh-ki’s.
“Well...I dunno...” Osprey hesitated.
“Please...oh pretty please!?”
“Um...”
“PLEEAASSEE!!!?”
“Okay.”
“YIPPY!!!” Ryoko cheered and leapt into the
air and flew in a random pattern.
Ryo-oh-ki eyed her questionably.
“A space pirate and a killer?” Usagi said
while watching the unusual woman fly
about the halls.
“Yup,” Osprey replied.
As if on cue, a rather large black hole opened
up in the ceiling and two figures fell
out, the hole closing immediately after. A teenage girl with dark hair
in somewhat
unusually braided pig-tails, wearing a tight, red dress with the yin-yang
symbol on it stood
up pointing an accusing finger at Usagi and Osprey, “In the name of
love and justice-”
“HOW DARE YOU STEAL MY LINES!!!!” Usagi yelled
at the top of her lungs,
apparently enraged at that fact.
The yin-yang girl raised an eyebrow and brought
back her hand. She cleared her
throat, “I am looking for that demon that was here. She was mean and
powerful and had
spiky blue hair and-”
“Yohko-san...” a childish voice weakly said.
The girl looked behind her and found the other
girl in a similar outfit with short
dark hair with an absurd ribbon tied in it sitting on something that
used to resemble
Ryoko.
“Get off...” Ryoko growled in a post-pain
way.
“Azusa-chan! Get ready!”
The visually younger girl leapt to her feet
and displayed a long spear that had not
been apparent before.Ryoko groaned in agony, slowly attempting to stand.
“Soul Sword...” Yohko spread her hands apart, “Appear!”
a sword materialized
and the girl charged at Ryoko with a battle cry.
“You’re mean,” Ryoko said, grinning mockingly as
she was suddenly face to face
with Yohko. The only thing stopping the Soul Sword was the translucent,
glowing red
saber Ryoko had conjured at the last possible moment.
“SHI NE, DEMON!” Yohko roared unpleasantly
and pushed herself away from
the attack, “Azusa!”
A spinning spear came upon Ryoko but she saw it
and teleported about five feet
away from her previous position, Azusa landing neatly beside Yohko.
The two girls split
and dashed seperate directions to either side of the pirate. Ryoko
narrowed her eyes and
was anticipating an attack from both sides simotaneously. She wasted
no time in
teleporting three feet into the air. The two blurrs of color made their
way to intercept
Ryoko in her readjusted mid-air hang. They sped directly for her.
“STOP!” Osprey commanded. At the sound of
her voice, Ryoko turned to look
and Yohko and Azusa fell to the ground, landing on their feet, weapons
down, also
looking at her.
In the silence that followed, the rest of
the Senshi came into the hall, drawn by the
sound of battle. Miyuki leapt from Minako’s arms and sprinted across
the floor at
Ryo-oh-ki. The two meowed at each other, obviously communicating in
some fashion.
“I will not have this fighting amung well
known Anime characters in this castle!”
Osprey expanded on her interruption.
She was returned with confused faces. Even
the Senshi found the comment rather
irrelevent. Yohko dropped her sword while no one changed their expression,
adding to the
distinct Anime effect.
Usagi sprouted a sweat drop and emitted a
funny laugh, soon followed by the
others, all except Ryoko who merely toppled over accompanied by the
mooing of a cow.
Osprey cleared her throat and continued, “ This is interesting...”She
put it mildly,
“Anyway, Yohko, Ryoko here isn’t exactly a ‘demon’, she’s a space pirate.
So Ryoko
shouldn’t be on your hit list! Ryoko, these humans come from a family
of demon hunters.
They are the latest line. They seem to have mistaken you for an enemy.”
Osprey glared at Ryoko who was now twiddling
her thumbs and looking upwards,
“You weren’t doing anything to provoke these girls, did you?”
Ryoko innocently shook her head. Yohko crossed
her arms, “That ‘space pirate’
and that animal of her’s were floating through the shopping district
downtown! Tell me
that isn’t a demon characteristic!”
Ryoko studied her nails as she rose into the air
and lay on her side.
“May I suggest you just think of this incident
as a mistake and let’s all be getting
back to our somewhat ‘normal’ lives,” Osprey stepped between the fuming
Yohko and the
floating Ryoko, attempting to prevent an unnecessary explosion of anger.
“We don’t make mistakes!” Yohko growled.
“Yohko-san, let’s go...” Azusa tried to help
things along.
“Yes, do,” Ryoko didn’t look up from her finger
nail study.
Yohko spun around, picked up her sword and
stomped to the approximate place
where the portal had first appeared. Without looking back, the raised
the sword and
summoned the portal again. She and Azusa leapt in and that was that.
“HAH!” Ryoko stuck her tongue out at them
making a rather repulsive face.
Osprey looked at Ryoko, “Sayonara!”
Ryoko’s face turned into confusion as Osprey
smiled and the pirate and cabbit
vanished, “ Say hi to the princesses, Tenchi, the police officers,
Washu, and the rest of the
family for me!”
The Senshi let out a long sigh of relief in unison.
“Meow,” said Miyuki, looking up at Osprey.
“Miyuki-chan! Why aren’t you with Phoenix!?”
She bent down to look at the
creature.
“Meow...?” A look of surprise crossed Miyuki’s face
and she bounded away at an
amazing speed for an animal that small.
“Hmm. Anyhow, Senshi, our final battleground will
be on Soria’s smaller moon,
Kage. That is where the enemy is residing. But before we enter that
battle, you will have
to have your powers enhanced. To do that, we will have to pay
a visit to the larger moon
of Soria, Hikari,” Osprey began walking down the hall with the Senshi
right beside her.
“You can enhance our powers?” Makoto asked.
“Not me, the guardian of Hikari. She can summon
your hidden powers. The
powers of the moons.”
“Powers of the moons? Are those powers stronger
than the powers of the
planets?” Ami stated an obvious question.
“Sometimes...” They entered a room that looked quite
technical. There were many
people at panels on the walls displaying masses of blinking lights.
In the center of the room was a raised platform,
“This is the gateway to the
moons,” Osprey said and waved down one of the workers, “ We need a
key to Hikari.”
The worker nodded his head and rushed to a semi-transparent
laptop, similar to
that which Dragon had made use of earlier. A key in the shape of a
white crescent moon
appeared in the worker’s hand and he handed it to Osprey, bowed and
returned to the
laptop.
“Everyone, board the gateway,” Osprey pointed to
the raised platform, “and be
prepared for anything!”
The six girls stepped onto the gateway and Osprey
raised the crescent moon key
above her head, “Hikari Tsukino!” She yelled and the key reacted, glowed
and the girls
were transported through the Lunar gateway.
