~Part 1-3~
In the depths of a castle, just
outside a town, a priest lost track of a certain hunter. The tracking stone
he had given Immerak, his most powerful servant, to allow an extra hired
hand to find the sword, had been touched by a powerful sorcerer,
not of his organization. This troubled him. He didn't feel like dealing
with any problems right now. He had plans to plan.
"Fuolin!"
The man that had told Kagemi
about the job in the restaurant bowed to the priest in extravagant green
and gold robes, "Zalmashu-sama."
"Is Miral searching for the
girl?" the priest looked down at the young boy, Fuolin.
"I believe so, but Immerak
should know for sure. He's the one that paid the hunter, not me," Fuolin
informed, not liking the situation he was in for more reasons than one.
"Immerak... where is he?"
"Here, Zalmashu-san," the
man Kagemi had met earlier in this same castle teleported into the dark
room just beyond the boy.
"What of the hunter?" Zalmashu
walked without any apparent movement, sliding across the glossy floor toward
the purple-haired man.
"I sent her to get the Hikari
no Ken. I would have expected her to have returned promptly with the weapon,
but I can't trace her on the device you told me to give her," Immerak's
eyes narrowed in annoyance.
"That isn't a surprise. The
connection was terminated by an outside source... probably a very strong
magic wielder..." Zalmashu brought up, "Maybe that's why that thing was
so cheap. I suppose I shouldn't trust suspicious-looking street vendors.
But in any case, you must find her and kill her. She's failed her task.
And make sure Miral returns, I will send her to retrieve the key," Zalmashu
spoke in a disappointed tone and dismissed Immerak with a wave of his hand.
He bowed once and vanished
as he had arrived in teleportation.
Fuolin waited for the priest
to return to his study and temple before he walked into the darkness where
another shadowy figure stood, watching.
"What's the plan?" Fuolin
asked quietly of the figure.
The man with dragon's wings
did not answer and turned away, retreating further into the shadows. Now
was not the time to discuss the matter. The second rise was already set
in motion.
